Astralis rallied past Natus Vincere with a reverse-sweep on Sunday to win the ESL Pro League Season 12’s European division.
After almost six hours and over 120 rounds, the Danish team finally claimed their first victory against Na’Vi in 2020, following three losses, in a nail-biting series that could have easily gone the other way.
Playing their third match of the weekend, the Danish team made an inauspicious start to the series as their defence was cut through by Na’Vi’s players with ease during the opening stages of Dust2.
This tournament started in the beginning of September with a prize pool of USD 450,000 and a total number of 16 teams participated in which we saw Na’Vi and Astralis battling out till the end for the title.
Na’Vi was really good throughout the tournament as they only lost a single match in the entire tournament against Ence. They defeated Heroic 2-0 in the upper bracket final to reach the grand finals of ESL Pro League with already a map advantage against Astralis.
On the other hand, Astralis was also playing quite well in this tournament and they just lost two matches in the entire tournament to Complexity and Heroic. Although they did comeback and defeated Heroic 2-0 in a best of three matchup to reach the finals of the tournament.
