Call of Duty: Warzone Surpasses 100 Million Players

Just over a year since it first launched, Activision has revealed that the Call of Duty: Warzone player count has surpassed 100 million for the first time.

Launched in March last year, Call of Duty: Warzone was a standalone free-to-play component of 2019’s premium title, Modern Warfare. In the year since its release, it has celebrated a number of big milestones and events along the way.

Six million dropped into Verdansk on day one. After just three days, Warzone hit 15 million players. Within a month of its launch, it had reached 50 million players, and was at 75 million by August 2020.

The game has also maintained a strong presence on Twitch, sitting as the fifth most popular game on the platform over the last month, according to Twitchmetrics. It averaged more than 105,062 viewers and peaked at nearly 319,000 viewers over the last 30 days.

This news comes just before Operation: Rapid Sunder, the next major in-game event set to take place on the 21st of April.
