The esports business specialists will focus on the metaverse and NFT as well as its core esports themes, to open up future revenue streams between global esports and TV industries.

Esports BAR will bring together games publishers and developers, teams and leagues, VCs and investors, broadcast and media service providers and consumer brand partners.

Those confirmed to attend include Engelbert Strauss, Excel Esports, Google, Konix, Le Coq Sportif, Ninjas in Pyjamas, PepsiCo, PUBG, Razer, Riot Games, Shikenzo and Ubisoft.

As part of its offering at the show, Esports BAR is running a roundtable exploring the metaverse and a session on NFTs. Joining this is co-founder and president of LA-based Crypto-enabled TV engagement specialists, Sator, Chris Martin.

MIPTV is hosting Esports BAR, with each event having separate entrances and self-contained programmes, with content tracks within Esports BAR that will appeal to MIP delegates.

RX France Entertainment Division Director, Lucy Smith, said: “Esports, NFTs and the metaverse represent huge opportunities for TV producers and programmers and we are leading the charge in Cannes with Esports BAR taking place alongside MIPTV. This is our first physical MIPTV in two years. We need to do more than bring everyone back together; we want to help the international TV industry chart a course for the future”.
