Team Fnatic took down G2 Esports to secure the spot in the finals, with a score of 3-2. The LEC (League of Legends European Championship) is League of Legends most highly-anticipated best-of-five series of the year. With this win, Fnatic ended a 875-day losing streak as well.
The semi-finals had a viewership of around 900k people, and was the best game of the summer playoffs. Team Fnatic did win individual games against G2 in the past, but have failed to win a best-of-five series against them since the iconic trade of Caps to the team.
The LEC Summer Split finals will be played online on September 5th. Team Fnatic is now already qualified to the League of Legends Worlds Championship this fall.
