OverActive Media Plans to Build New Esports Arena in Toronto

OverActive Media, the owner of the Toronto Defiant (Overwatch League), Toronto Ultra (Call of Duty League), and Spanish esports team MAD Lions, is creating a 7,000-to-10,000 seat esports arena in Toronto, Canada, according to ESPN.

OverActive Media has already invested heavily in the industry, as it owns teams Toronto Defiant, Toronto Ultra, and MAD Lions. The new arena is set to be situated in Exhibition Place in Toronto and will be adjacent to BMO Field and Hotel X Toronto.

OverActive Media has also reportedly enlisted Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment vice president Bob Hunt to assist with the project. Hunt has been taken on to liaise with government officials on the venue and has had experience assisting the development of projects, such as B.C Place Stadium, Rogers Centre, and BMO Field.
