ESL has confirmed the dates for the ESL Stockholm Major, the first Dota 2 LAN event of the 2022 Dota Pro Circuit.
The Stockholm Major will be the culminating event for the 2022 DPC’s Spring Tour, running from the 12th to the 22nd of May and featuring 18 teams.
The main event will be held from the 20th to the 22nd of May in Stockholm, Sweden’s Hovet Arena. This will be the first Dota Major of any size with a crowd since 2020. Tickets will go on sale on the 17th of February at 5pm CET, and will be available via ESL’s official website.
A total of 18 teams will earn a place at the Stockholm Major via Spring Tour regional leagues and will fight for a share of the $500,000 prize pool and 3530 DPC points.
The Stockholm Major will use the same standard invite system as previous Majors, with a set number of teams from each region being invited based on their performance in the regional leagues for the Spring Tour. Here’s how that will break down:
- Western Europe and China
- Four teams each
- Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia
- Three teams each
- North and South America
- Two teams each
The Stockholm Major in May, with a live audience, will be the first time that a Dota 2 Major will be held in front of a crowd since DreamLeague Season 13: The Leipzig Major in early 2020.
