Astro Bot took home the top award at The Game Awards, which was held in Los Angeles. Astro Bot won the Game of the Year trophy, along with three other awards. The platformer, a playable tribute to Sony’s 30-year history, also took home the best game direction award.
Other Game of the Year nominees: Indie runaway success Balatro won three awards; Atlus fantasy role-playing game Metaphor: ReFantazio picked up the same number of nods, including an award for Best Narrative. Helldivers 2 and Black Myth: Wukong each took home two statues, and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth won an award for best music and score.
