Valorant Champions Tour Game Changers Program for Marginalised Genders

Riot Games has announced the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) Game Changers program, designed to create more opportunities for women and other marginalised genders across the competitive Valorant scene.

VCT Game Changers will come in the form of two initiatives; the VCT Game Changers Series and the VCT Game Changers Academy. The Series will be a series of top-level tournaments around the same scale as the Ignition series, and will occur across multiple regions. The first is set to take place in March, although more are expected to follow through 2021.

The VCT Game Changers Academy program will be hosting monthly tournaments, to give players opportunities to compete at the semi-pro and grassroots level. Academy events will be organised in partnership with Galorant, one of the largest communities within Valorant. Galorant previously helped organise the For the Women Summer Showdown tournament in September 2020.

Both the VCT Game Changers Series and Academy will help build the next generation of leaders who aspire to succeed with the competitive Valorant community, and will be a good first step in promoting inclusivity among Valorant players around the world.
