China Will Remove Capacity Limits of Entertainment Venues in Low-Risk Areas of Covid-19

China will lift the event capacity restrictions on entertainment venues, including cinemas, theaters, and internet cafes in low-risk areas of Covid-19, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced on Monday.

Local governments can from now on decide on venues depending on the Covid-19 situation, the Ministry said.

The announcement will be beneficial for China’s esports industry since the thousands of internet cafes in the country play an important role in developing esports grassroots.

Last week, Tencent and VSPN also announced that the Peacekeeper Elite annual event, Peacekeeper Elite Championship (PEC), will be hosted at the Shanghai Mercedes-Benz Arena this summer.
