Collegiate CS:GO Launches in Turkey

The esports agency Gaming in Turkey has collaborated with British online tournament platform Faceit, to launch a collegiate esports Counter Strike: Global Offensive team in Turkey. This announcement will solidify and formalise the CS:GO scene that has flourished in Turkish colleges since 2018.

The first tournament to take place will be the Collegiate Esports League Turkey, and it kicks off later this autumn school semester. With a collegiate CS:GO team, Turkish universities can now build teams and student communities around this tournament.

The tournament is available for students on the Faceit platform. As part of the agreement, Gaming in Turkey also has plans to ramp up the collegiate League of Legends and Valorant tournaments for next year. Providing a professional environment for young and new talent is crucial for them to seek and find opportunities within the esports industry.

This partnership with Faceit and Gaming in Turkey allows for better opportunities as a student eager to break into the esports scene. It’s great to see formalised collegiate esports outside the US and UK, and how the collegiate esports scene is being shaped globally.
