The DreamHack Open Fall 2020 came to end on Sunday with Heroic walking away as the champions after an intense best-of-five finale against Team Vitality came to an end with a 3-2 scoreline.
With this victory Heroic gained 2500 RMR points along with a prize of USD 33,000 to stand second on the European RMR points table. They also became the first European CS:GO team to qualify for IEM Global Challenge 2020 which could possibly be the first CS:GO LAN tournament since the worldwide lockdown.
Team Vitality looked strong for the duration of the whole tournament, knocking out tough competitors such as Ninjas in Pyjamas, BIG and Astralis. Heroic however, was the wildcard who began in the loser’s bracket, and ended up pushing through all the way to the finals, coincidentally also defeating all the tough teams Team Vitality knocked out.
With this victory Heroic has raced up to the second position on the European RMR points table while also becoming the first team from Europe to secure themselves a slot at IEM Global Challenge 2020.
