Guild Esports, co-owned by the English former professional footballer David Beckham, has announced its entry in the Professional Rocket League. The team will compete in the RLCS X series, which has a new format.
Guild Esports has its headquarters in London, UK, and announced its global launch at the end of June. Guild Esports will start scouting talents for FIFA, Fortnite and Rocket League.
Beckham will have a hands-on role with the new Rocket League team. He will educate players on the stress of esports, living a healthy lifestyle and dealing with mental health issues related to esports. He will also be mentoring the academy team.
The Rocket League Season 10 action will begin this week. The open qualifiers will be taking place throughout the week, followed by the main event at the weekend.
The RLCS has moved away from a static league system to a more dynamic series of events, enabling more teams to compete in the tournament. Guild Esports has already qualified for the main event by being an RLCS Season 9 team.
