Ferrari has announced that its highly popular esports series will make a return in 2021.
Kicking off in April, participants will compete for a place on the final grid, and the eventual winner will be offered a “money-can’t-buy prize”; the chance to become an official esports racing driver at Ferrari Driver Academy Esports Team.
Those signing up to the competition will be entered into the qualification stage, the first of three racing phases:
- From the 5th of April until late July, four hot-lap sessions will decide the 48 participants of the main competition;
- From late August through to November, those successful to make the final four-dozen will qualify for the main Ferrari Esports Series competition; and
- In mid-December, the season will finish when the top 24 drivers take part in the Grand Final, comprised of three races, deciding who becomes the 2021 Ferrari Esports Series Champion.
