Garmin’s New Esports Smartwatch

Garmin’s New Esports Smartwatch

Garmin has launched the Garmin Instinct Esports Edition smartwatch, which is designed with esports gamers in mind, allowing them to livestream biometric data to their audiences.

The Instinct Esports Edition boasts a dedicated esports activity function which tracks and analyzes a gamer’s heart rate and stress while they are in the game.

Thanks to a new PC tool called STR3AMUP!, gamers are able to overlay this biometric data to whoever is watching them play. The overlays themselves are customizable, so a gamer can match the data dump to their particular broadcasting style.

Garmin takes the live performance analysis a step further with a new Body Battery Energy Monitor reading, which combines a gamers heart rate, stress and sleep data to determine how much energy they have in the tank. So, viewers will be able to see which gamers might be about to hit the end of a winning streak and which ones may be about to hit the zone.

On top of these additions, the Esports Edition offers the same core features and sensors as the first Instinct. That includes a heart rate monitor, 24/7 activity tracking and smartwatch features like the ability to view phone notifications.

On the durability front, the latest Garmin Instinct is built to military standards (MIL-STD 810) and features a scratch-resistant display.
