Invictus Gaming (IG) pulled off a reversal win against Evil Genius (EG) trounced in the final series of best of three games in the One Esports Dota 2 Singapore Major with a score of 3-2, netting them the first prize award of a prize of USD 200,000 and 500 Dota Pro Circuit Points.
IG eliminated Thunder Predator, Team Secret, PSG.LGD and EG. They now have a total of 1,000 DPC points and sit atop the 2021 DPC rankings heading into season two.
The team from the China region emerged as the winner out of the eighteen teams from all around the world after a gruelling competition for a prize pool of USD 500,000 over the last nine days.
The victory for IG is especially tough as it fought back up from the lower brackets after it got trounced by EG earlier in the upper bracket round 2 (2-0).
Dota 2 is a five-on-five multiplayer online game and one of the world’s most popular esports titles, introduced in 2013 by Valve after a remake from its original version, “Defence of the Ancient” as a custom game mod in Warcraft 3.
This esports event is the first major of the 2021 Dota 2 Pro Circuit season and also the first top tier offline cross regional event in over a year following the lockdowns across the world in 2020.
One Esports Dota 2 Singapore Major, which was a closed door event, was presented by PGL and held at Fairmont Singapore in partnership with the Singapore Tourism Board (STB).
