The most anticipated esports event of the year is the League of Legends Worlds Championship. It pulled in more than 100 million viewers last year in total, and 44 million concurrent viewers during the finals. Now the dates for Worlds 2020 have finally been revealed.
The dates were revealed at Tencent’s recent esports conference. The championship will commence on September 25th, which is in one month. The final will be held on October 31st in the Pudong Soccer Stadium, in Shanghai. This is an early finish to the championship, as it usually finishes mid-November. All matches will be played with Covid-19 measurements taking place.
October is going to be an exciting month for many LoL fans, as many other esports tournaments were cancelled this year. This year’s pandemic brought uncertainty to the world’s most popular esport, but on July 31st Riot Games assured fans that Worlds 2020 would commence.
