Shanghai Confirms League of Legends Worlds 2020

The Shanghai government has confirmed this week that the League of Legends World Championships will go on as planned, and will be hosted in the Shanghai Pudong District in October.

Since the pandemic, there has been concerns about whether or not the competition would go on, as many large esports tournaments have cancelled. The cancelled tournaments are CS:GOs IEM Katowice in Poland, the Dota 2 Major in Los Angeles, and even the League of Legends Championships series summer spring splits, among others.

Although, Riot Games has had to adjust to the qualifications process for the Worlds 2020 championships as they cancelled the MSI (mid-season Invitational), which is part of the selection process.

This will be an interesting League of Legends Worlds championship, like no other in history, as it prevails even in these times.
