Staffordshire University was the first university in the UK to offer degrees in the esports sector. They offer both Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts programs to prospective students. Students learn about the esports ecosystem and business side of esports, esports event management, international esport policy, and more.
The university has now entered a partnership with TeamSpeak, which is a massively popular online communication system used by gamers and gaming events. This partnership is a sponsorship agreement, where students will now be able to have full access to the VOIP software. In addition, TeamSpeak will be integrated into two courses in both the BA and MA programs.
The integration of TeamSpeak into these two courses was created in order to help esports majors prepare for real-world scenarios in the industry.
