Today’s match at the Worlds 2020 championships was incredibly eventful. Chinese team Suning took down G2 Esports at the one-sided 22 minute match, where Suning played the map much better. This takedown sets up a tiebreaker game between them and G2 for palace in group A.
This win over G2 Esports consequently eliminated Team Liquid, ranked one of the top teams in the world by ESL, from Worlds 2020. Now G2 and Suning will do a tiebreaker match to determine who will be the top seed.
Team Liquid didn’t get off to a great start in the tournament, in fact they played one of the worst games in the tournament against team Machi Esports, which they desperately needed to beat. They used their North American “do nothing until you lose” strategy, which proved to not be very strong.
With this loss, Team Liquid will have to make big off-season decisions, in order to become the top of the top again.
