Cinemark Will Bring Esports And Gaming Events to Movie Theatres Around The United States

North American movie theatre company Cinemark and esports firm Mission Control have announced a partnership that will bring esports and gaming events to movie theatres around the United States.

This summer, Cinemark customers will have the ability to join drop-in games in select theatres, and a new partnership with Mission Control will offer online esports leagues. As a result of the partnership, some of Cinemark’s 523 theatres will start hosting public gaming events. Moreover, the firm will also organise online tournaments for a number of titles.

At the select US theatres, Cinemark will have a weekly schedule of in-auditorium public gaming events. Enthusiasts can drop-in with their Nintendo Switch console to go head-to-head with other gamers. With Cinemark’s larger-than-life screens with booming surround sound, drop-in play offers the ultimate environment for games like Rocket League, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Mario Kart 8.

Cinemark drop-in gaming begins on the 20th of June, and esports league play begins on the 21st of June. For all details on how to play, including participating theatres, online leagues, schedules and games, visit Cinemark.com/gamebig.

Cinemark Esports, a project developed with esports brand Mission Control, has also been announced. The project’s goal is to offer online gaming opportunities for those looking to compete with fellow Cinemark fans. As such, Cinemark and Mission Control will organise a series of online and offline tournaments across a variety of titles.
