EA And FIFA Are Splitting Up And Making Football Games Separately

Electronic Arts’ FIFA games are about to come to an end. The games publisher has announced that it’s splitting up with FIFA – the international football governing body – and renaming the FIFA football game franchise EA Sports FC. FIFA on the other hand, will go on to make sports games of its own with other partners. .

This change won’t take effect until 2023, which means that fans of the franchise will still get FIFA 23 later this year. Next year, EA will put out a game under its new brand EA Sports FC. EA has promised to release more information regarding this new series in July 2023.

EA has been developing FIFA games since 1993 and finally, they announced to part ways with FIFA after almost 30 years. Apart from the FIFA name and FIFA events, all the other tournaments such as English Premier League, and UEFA Leagues will be there along with all the licensed clubs, brands, and tournaments.

FIFA added that a few non-simulation football games are already under development and they might even get launched ahead of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. The FIFA World Cup Qatar is going to begin in November 2022. With the recent launch of the FIFA + streaming service, the question is whether the Zürich-based organisation is planning to introduce a new football gaming model.
