Today, Riot Games announced that the League of Legends World 2020 Championships, set to start this fall, will be sponsored by Mercedes-Benz. The automotive brand will be involved in the presenting of the Summoner’s Cup this year. Last year, fashion brand Louis Vuitton was the partner for the Summoner’s cup, where they presented the Cup in a custom-designed case.
The cup will be presented to the winning team on Oct. 31st. Mercedes-Benz will also develop other branded content such as social media, ad artworks, commercials, and more. This is not the first time Mercedes-Benz partners with League of Legends, they have been partners with China’s LPL for these last three seasons.
It seems with this partnership, it will run deeper than trophy ceremonies at international events. It will be exciting to see the evolution of Mercedes-Benz partnerships with League of Legends, and what they will bring to the table.
